  • Leaves visible from underneath the roof
  • Overlapping from bottom to the top of the roof
  • 4’’ 3/8 / 11 cm spacing between rows except for the first row which is fixed at 7’’ 7/8 / 20 cm from the bottom
  • Double layer of leaves for the first row
  • Palmex wind clips can be added for a better wind protection.

Rio

  • To be nailed, stapled or screwed to a sub-roofing (plywood, shingles, metal sheeting, etc.) or to horizontal battens
  • Overlapping from bottom to the top of the roof
  • 4’’ ¾ / 12.5 cm spacing between rows except for the first row which is fixed at 7’’ 7/8 / 20 cm from the bottom
  • The second row is placed at 2’’ / 5 cm from the first to give appearance of thickness along the roof’s edge
  • An additional row of nails can be added at 4’’ ¾ /12.5 cm from the top of the leaves for a better wind protection.

Hips & valleys:

  • External angles and valleys: one hip every other row, starting from the bottom to the top of the roof.
  • Eaves and gable ends: half of one hip on each row, starting from the bottom to the top of the roof.

Screw or nail the ridge to the central and vertical beams with a 5” / 13 cm overlapping side by side.

Wind clips

Wind clips:

Insert the clip into the rail of Aloha/Bora Bora leaves and screw it to the rafters with the clip. Use two clips per leaf. Optional: can be screwed to Rio/Domingo leaves (no rails).
